"Our team is engaged in the development of biomaterials based on hyaluronan derivatives that can be used as part of ATMP (Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products).
We are particularly interested in the development of hydrogels suitable for 3D cell culture, which can also serve as matrices for controlled release of biologically active substances. We also study physicochemical parameters of our developed materials in relation to effectiveness within their application and their biocompatibility.
We are directly involved in designing optimal methods of chemical modifications of hyaluronan, optimizing the viscoelastic properties of developed materials, studying the possibilities of cultivation of various types of cells in our hydrogels, and participating in in vivo design experiments to verify the functionality of newly designed products. Our group cooperates with a wide range of research departments and we are also intensively focusing on the transfer of new technologies into manufacturing practice.
Our scientists are actively involved in addressing a number of European projects under the Framework Programs for Research and Innovation:
Within these projects, we have the opportunity to work with top European scientific workplaces."
