"Our team is engaged in the development of polymeric carrier systems to serve as a carrier matrix of low bioavailability drugs. Carrier systems should primarily serve for the targeted delivery of chemotherapeutics. An integral part is the design and development of the matrix to be biodegradable and to provide controlled or targeted release of the carried substance. We observe physicochemical parameters in relation to hydrodynamic size, compatibility with the supported substance or stability in different environments in developed materials.
In cooperation with other research groups, we also participate in their analytical characterization and in vitro biological testing. In cooperation with external workplaces, we are involved in in-vivo experiments planning that tests the efficiency and functionality of carrier systems. Besides the development of carrier systems, our team provides structural analysis (NMR spectroscopy), thermal (TG, DSC, ITC) and selected rheological analyses for our colleagues from other R&D departments.
We also take part in solving problems in transferring new products from the laboratory to production. Our team is actively involved in preparing documents for publication, patent and project outputs. Thanks to the broad-based focus of our team, our employees are exposed to diverse activities and have insight into a number of areas of new application trends."
