FAQ
Are the internships paid, or do you offer part-time jobs?
We currently offer only unpaid professional internships and work placements. We do not offer temporary or part-time positions within individual company departments.
How long does an internship in your laboratories last?
The minimum duration of an internship is 20 working days. However, the exact length and form of cooperation may vary depending on the internship focus, the student’s availability and the capacity of the relevant department.
Is it possible to take part in an internship during the academic year, or only in summer?
Internships are available throughout the year, depending on the current capacity of individual departments. Demand is highest between June and September, when available places tend to fill up quickly. We therefore recommend applying well in advance.
Do you offer help with accommodation for students from other cities?
Yes. By prior arrangement, we may provide free accommodation near the company for students travelling from further away.
How does the selection process work, and what documents are required for the application?
Your application must include a CV and a motivation letter. Based on the submitted documents, we will select candidates and invite them to an in-person or online interview.
Can I get involved in research already in the first year of my bachelor’s studies?
Yes. We also accept students enrolled in Bachelor’s degree programmes. Previous experience and specialist knowledge are not always the deciding factors. Motivation, genuine interest in the field and willingness to learn are particularly important.
Is it possible to work on a bachelor’s, master’s or dissertation thesis during the internship?
In addition to professional internships, we also offer students the opportunity to complete their Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis projects in our laboratories.
Currently available topics are published on our website. As part of individual cooperation, we may also provide topics directly to our partner universities.
What is an internship in your laboratories like?
At the beginning of the internship, you will complete all mandatory training. You will then become familiar with the relevant documentation, scientific publications, methods and practical laboratory activities within your department.
You will be supervised by experienced colleagues throughout the internship. Once you have acquired the necessary knowledge and skills, you may be able to perform certain tasks independently or with limited supervision.
