Schizophyllan

Schizophyllan demonstrates the effect on skin hydration of reducing transepidermal water loss, reflected in increased water retention in the epidermis.

Support for the viability of keratinocytes leads to their rapid proliferation, the faster restoration of the stratum corneum and increased production of precursors, which are the basis of lipids necessary for the proper functioning of the natural moisturizing factor. This enhances the barrier function of the stratum corneum, reducing TEWL.
